Sawyer finally made it to the end of a Grasshoppers game last night.
Of course, it took Mama sitting in the parking lot while he slept for the first hour of the game.
We made it to the game about the fourth inning, and he watched the sights and sounds with major interest.
Ray bet on and won him a Grasshoppers jersey during their annual charity auction. We were a little scared he wouldn't last until the end of the game, but a snack kept him awake.
So, after the Grasshoppers lost 12-2 (despite a 2-run, 9th inning rally), we went down on the field to get our player's jersey autographed.
Relief pitcher Erick Carrillo was very amused by him and posed for a picture with us.
Then Sawyer got to see his first fireworks show. He seemed to love it. He watched with his jaw wide open and though I tried to keep his ears covered, he kept moving my hands. He never acted scared of them.
It was amazing to think back to our first game, when he was not quite 4 months old. He made it about half a game.
We look forward to next season when he might make it through a whole one and fireworks.
