The boy is mobile.
Sawyer started REALLY walking on Jan. 7, a little early birthday present for Mama.
One minute he was standing beside me. The next he just took off for a toy. I told Ray about it when he got home, and he was crushed to have missed it. But he was rewarded when Sawyer walked from the coffee table to the gate to greet Ray. It was a long distance, and we both expected him to drop down and crawl halfway ... but he made it! Ray and I were both blinking back the tears. We were tickled and excited.
(I will try to get up a video eventually. My laptop and my video camera speak different languages.)
He's been talking more, though we think he might speak another language, too. We don't understand a lot of what he's saying. He likes to say "that" a day. He points to something and says "get that" or "see that" until we show or give it to him. He also says something that sounds like "cat," "yup" and "light." He also says "get up" when he wants help climbing on the couch, but he can usually make it on and off by himself.
Last week, while we were in Hickory, he got a real big-boy haircut from the barber that cuts Daddy's and Andrew's hair. He may have also cut my granddad's hair. Four generations. Pretty cool.
